Ellen S. Best

   Ellen Best has practiced law for more than 30 years.  After graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz, she moved to Blue Hill and obtained her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in Portland.  Her practice is concentrated on real estate, estate planning and administration, conservation law and assisting small business owners.  She is a past member of the Ethics Commission of the Board of Overseers of the Bar.      Ellen has been involved in numerous non-profit organizations in the area, and her commitment to the community has included serving as President of the Blue Hill Public Library and Blue Hill Heritage Trust.    ebest@ellenbestlaw.com

John Z. Steed

  John Steed attended Drexel University's Kline School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated Cum Laude and won the Oxholm Fellowship. After law school, he worked for the Philadelphia City Solicitor's Office and the Office of the Public Defender, handling hundreds of cases in Philadelphia courts. Missing the community and the beauty of this area he returned to his native Stonington in 2014.     Prior to law school, John was an active member of the community serving as a Selectman in Stonington and on many local boards of directors. He currently serves on the Board of the Stonington Opera House and on advisory committees for the Island Heritage Trust.      jsteed@ellenbestlaw.com
